If you’re using Word and just wanna pop in an arrow fast, the easiest way I’ve found is using the old-school Alt codes. Like, hold down Alt, and then hit 26 on the number pad — that gives you a right arrow (→). Wanna go left? It’s Alt + 27. Up and down are Alt + 24 and 25.
But yeah — you do need a numpad. I had a laptop without one once, and I couldn’t do it, which sucked.
So what I did instead — and I still do this — is set up AutoCorrect in Word. I made it so that when I type something like –>, it automatically turns into →. It’s way faster once you’ve got it set up.
Not the fanciest solution, but it works.
