I’ve been tagged in someone’s Instagram Story and want to repost it. Could someone tell me the correct steps or any app I can use if I’m not tagged?

Alright, so if someone tagged you in their Instagram Story, reposting it is actually super easy — but only if you’re tagged.
When you’re tagged, you’ll get a DM (direct message) from them that says something like “@username mentioned you in their story.” You’ll see a little preview of their story in that message. Just tap on it, and you’ll get the option to “Add to Your Story.” Hit that, and boom — it’ll be added to your own story, and you can customize it with stickers, text, or whatever before you post it. That’s it. Super straightforward.
Now — if you’re not tagged, that’s where things get a little tricky. Instagram won’t give you the option to repost unless you’re mentioned in the original story. They’re strict about that. But yeah, there are still a few ways around it if you really want to share it:
1. Ask the person to tag you — seriously, just shoot them a quick message and ask them to repost it with your tag. That way, you’ll get the notification and can share it the official way.
2. Take a screenshot or screen recording — If the story is a photo, just screenshot it (but maybe ask first if it’s personal). If it’s a video, you can use your phone’s built-in screen recorder to capture it. Then upload it manually to your story. Just make sure you give credit if it’s their original content — tag them or mention them in the caption so it’s not weird.
3. Use a third-party app — I’m usually cautious with these, but there are apps like Repost for Instagram, StorySaver, or Repost Story (iOS and Android) that let you download other people’s stories (public profiles only). Again, just be respectful and give credit — and definitely don’t use those apps on private accounts or for anything shady.
So yeah — if you’re tagged, reposting takes like five seconds. If not, it takes a little more effort, but it’s still doable.
One last thing — stories disappear after 24 hours, so if it’s something you really want to share, try not to wait too long or you might miss your window.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you want a step-by-step version too, I can write that out.

If someone tags you in their Instagram Story, reposting it is super easy and doesn’t require any extra apps. Here’s how to do it:
1. Check Your DM Notifications
When someone tags you in their Story, Instagram sends you a notification via Direct Message (DM). Open your messages and you’ll see a message that says something like “@username mentioned you in their story.”
2. Tap on the Story
Once you open the message, you’ll see the Story they posted with an option that says “Add to Your Story.” Tap that.
3. Customize (Optional)
Before sharing it to your own Story, you can resize, add stickers, text, music, or mention them back. Then just post it like any normal Story.
Now, if you’re not tagged but still want to repost someone’s Story, it gets a bit trickier:
>Ask them to tag you — That’s the easiest way.
>Take a screenshot or screen recording — Then upload it to your Story, but it’s good etiquette to ask for permission first.
>If you want to repost Stories without being tagged and with better quality, you can try apps like Repost: For Instagram, or use third-party downloaders — but again, always respect privacy and get permission.
Instagram doesn’t natively allow you to repost Stories you’re not tagged in, for obvious privacy reasons. So if you’re not mentioned, it’s best to reach out to the original poster and ask politely.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you’re trying to do this from a business or creator account — there are some extra features you might be able to use.

If you’ve been tagged in their story, it’s super easy. You’ll get a DM from Instagram saying something like “@username mentioned you in their story.” Just open that message, tap on the story preview, and you’ll see an option that says Add to Your Story.
Tap it, and it’ll open in the story editor so you can add text, stickers, or whatever before posting. Done.
Now, if you’re not tagged, Instagram won’t give you that “Add to Your Story” option. In that case, you’ve got a few ways around it.
First, you can just ask them to tag you and repost it — that’s the easiest and most direct. Second, you could take a screenshot if it’s a photo, or use your phone’s built-in screen recorder if it’s a video, then upload it manually and tag them to give credit.
Third, there are apps like Repost for Instagram, StorySaver, or Repost Story that let you save and repost public stories, but they won’t work on private accounts.
Either way, the main thing is — if they tagged you, you can repost instantly in a couple taps. If they didn’t, it’s a bit more manual, but still possible.
